The Serra Project is currently seeking a Social Worker to provide in-home supportive services in Los Angeles County.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Social Worker:
  • Provides in-home supportive services to individuals and families infected and affected with HIV/AIDS
  • Coordinates participant’s social and medical services to ensure continuity of care
  • Educates participants regarding a variety of housing issues and assists in mediating the landlord/tenant relationship
  • Provides appropriate clinical interventions for those struggling with drug abuse, mental illness, HIV-diagnosis, and other issues
  • Conducts outreach to a variety of agencies regarding services offered
  • Maintains participant records and collects all required documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must:
  • Possess a Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with special populations, preferably in the areas of homelessness, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and chemical dependency
  • Previous experience with housing and housing related issues a plus
  • Be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Clear a background check
  • Hold a valid class ‘C’ driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Be able to drive to various locations throughout Los Angeles County
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
COMPENSATION
  • The salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Vacation, sick time, and holidays
  • Clinical supervision for individuals seeking licensure
